Hot off the press...

She has done it again. Jennifer Aniston- chopped her hair off! She is such a trend-setter that it won't surprise me one bit if 75% of the women in the world go and chop their hair off too! Hey, who knows?....Maybe even me!

Here is Jen before at the Premier of "Just Go With It."
{we're pretty much bff's, so I call her Jen.}

After: At "Just Go With It" photo call in Madrid.

I just love Jennifer Aniston. Every night I say my prayers that I will look half as good as her when I am her age!! Just kidding. But seriously, she is smokin!!

So what say ye?
Do you love her cut?
Or do you think she should keep it long?

Kicking the Winter Blues...

Winter is {hopefully} winding down. It seems like this winter has been going for 757 million days. Bleh! I am so sick of it and dying for some warm sunshine to kiss my skin again. Here are a few beauty splurges to help you survive the last few weeks of winter, and get ready for the swimsuit\flip-flop season!

 Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Sugar Scrub- They have 7 fragrances that each have a different purpose. {Stress Relief, Sensuality, Sleep, or Energy} $16.00 or Buy 2 get 1 free. {great gift idea!}

Jergens Natural Glow- Daily moisturizer/Sunless Tanner- I absolutely love this product. Have you used it? It's fantastic for an everyday moisturizer. I put it on after my daily shower. I love how it gradually gives you a healthy looking glow. It's not so crazy that it turns you orange and it blends really well so you don't have to worry about huge streaks or stripes.
You can find it at most grocery stores for about $9.00.

Sally Hansen Hard as Nails- We all want to have great "Summer Toes." This product will help prevent chipping, splitting and cracking of the nails. It gives nails a hard, smooth, chip-resistant surface that helps strengthen and support nails. It has a powerful, long-lasting protection to help nails grow. You can get it in clear, or three other very light pinkish colors. Men can easily use this product to help get their "summer toes" up to par as well. {Trust me, I was introduced to this by a very important man in my life....{not my husband}

You can also find this at local grocery stores...

There are 3 products to get you started on your Summer-Prep. More tips to come!!

skirt trend alert.

Have you noticed? Calf- Length skirts are a HUGE trend this spring! They are popping up on red carpets everywhere. I, personally, am in love with this length of skirt.  If anyone knows me, they know I love wearing skirts and dresses and usually prefer them over pants any day. I love a few things about this great trend:

  1. I love how feminine they are. They seem so girly when paired with some great pumps or strappy sandals.
  2. It's so refreshing to see some skin being covered up!! These days it seems like the skimpier, the better! This is proof that you don't have to flaunt yourself to look sexy!
  3. As a mommy, I love that by wearing a skirt that is a little longer, you don't have to worry about bending over to pick up your screaming chilld on the floor, while flashing your entire congregation at church! {oh believe me, it's happened} - Not to mention wind gusts in the parking lot, kids lifting up your skirt, picking up toys and snacks off the floor, etc. etc.
Here are a few favorites...

This darling striped Patagonia Skirt is the perfect solution for a warm, summer,
flip-flop\t-shirt wearing kind of day.
I think this Black leather version of the calf-length skirt is so great. It's so versatile... you could easily dress it up, or dress it down.

And last, but not least... I love this grey one. {Florence Midi Skirt} I love the floral buttons. You could pair this skirt with a million different tops.

Looks like I need to go shopping!!

I am busy being inspired...

I am so excited! Today I am at an all-day training with an incredible hairdresser, Phillip Wilson.  He has an incredible amount of talent and some of his clients include Andy Warhol, The Who, wealthy private clients- actors, authors and royals.

The hair school that I went to, Taylor Andrews, brings Phillip to the school every now and again for the amazing opportunity to drink up his knowledge and skill.

Ever since I have been out of a salon and just doing hair at home, I have been CRAVING some inspiration.  When I heard Phillip Wilson was coming to town, I knew I had to go. I feel like it's so important to continue my education and keep my passion for beauty alive.  I am so excited to come home tomorrow and feel inspired and renewed. And I can't wait to try all the new techniques I learn!

Anyway, just thought I would share! To learn more about Phillip, read THIS article.

Also, if you are thinking of going to hair school, check out Taylor Andrews Academy. I had an amazing experience there!

Doll Face.

Did you see Janelle Monae at the Grammy's on Sunday? I love her flawless red-carpet make-up. She looks so fresh and dewey. Here make-up artist, Oslyn Holder, spilled her secret to Glamour this week. Using solely Nyx Cosmetics {which I have personally never heard of until now...} they created a soft-doll face look.

To acheive this look yourself, begin by the usual skin-prep regimine.
1. Cleanse. Moisturize. Prime, and apply your favorite base evenly across your face.
2. Use a soft eye shadow and a bold eyeliner to perfect her wide-eyed look.
3. Next, use a peachy\pink blush and lightly apply to the apples of your cheeks, blending      upward. They used Nyx Cosmetics Grinding Blush in Apricot and English Rose.
4. Finish your look off with a nude lip!

Incase you don't know who Janelle Monae is, check out this video of her singing on David Letterman...

 What do you think of her? I first saw her on Ellen and I think she is so cool. Such a nice change from the regular divas we are so used to seeing!

L.C. at Kohls.

The gorgeous Lauren Conrad has a new line of Spring clothing at Kohl's. I love her feminine style. She is such a beautiful person, too. The good news is that the clothing ranges anywhere from $10-$60. A very affordable price range.

Here are a few of my favorite looks:

I love this girly dress. I am always on the look-out for cute new dresses and skirts. That belt totally completes this outfit.

Loving the fresh feel of this trenchcoat. Nothing screams Spring like a turquoise trench! In fact, in high school, I owned a hot pink trench from Banana Republic. Pretty sure it was my most prized possession for a little while...

I just love everything about this look. Love the jacket with the skinny jeans and the nice spring top. It's a perfect outfit for a cool, spring day.

P.S. Don't you love her hair?? Makes me want to freshen my own hair up a bit.

To see more, check out her line HERE.

My Skin-Care Regimen

Ever since high school, I can remember asking people around who had beautiful skin, "what's your secret?" I promise you almost every single one of them told me they just washed their face with bar soap and used a good moisturizer.

Bar soap?!? That always sounded so sketchy to me. You always hear that you should NOT use bar soap to clean your skin... that is't too drying. But after hearing this same answer from SEVERAL gorgeous-skinned people, I decided I had nothing to lose!!

After years of using all types of different facial cleansers, I finally gave bar soap a shot. And....
I LOVE IT! Yes. It can be drying... but when paired with a really rich moisturizer, I feel like it all balances out. My skin has never been better. So, there you have it. That is my personal opinion on my favorite skin care.... ask a dermatologist and they may have other opinions. I am by no means a skin doctor! This is just what I have found works for me. I use regular old bar soap and I love the Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream. I buy a big tub at Costco for about $10 and it lasts us several months. Who would have thought?!

P.S. A clean, moisturized face is ESSENTIAL to have a flawless looking make-up application. It will help give you that "dewey" look we all love so much.
